"CI8CW" QSL viewcard showing the ICOM radio equipment provided to the skiers in a joint Russian/Canadian expedition from Severnaya Zemlya Archipelago to Cape Colombia on Ellesmere Island which was successful. The March 10 1988 date is early, so their log book indicates they were heading towards Sredniy Island. Most unusual. $5.00 aers
"COMMANDER BYRD flew from Spitzenbergen(sic) to the North Pole and Back in approximately 15 hours, May 9, 1926" showing his Fokker Tri-motor which took off from Spitsbergen Norway; minor corner wear & rounding. Rare: coupon on back was not cut off. Sold but front side still available for scholarly study & research as an enlarged 300-dpi scan (publication quality) in .jpg format for $3.75. a(p)na

"In the Arctic region" showing two people walking near a frost-covered structure, well done home-made (and, hence, unique) post card mailed 1963 from Fayetteville Ohio. $1.75 a
"JW0C" shortwave (18 mc) Barentsburg Norway QSL card used 1992 by operator UB5MVJ. Attractive multicolor art on front for the first Russian amateur radio club station in the Spitsbergen Archipelago depicts a polar bear, small bottom corner crease, neat violet handstamp of the N7RO DX QSL Service. Map on the other side shows the location of this small (population about 500) coal mining settlement in relation to Longyearbyen, Sveagruwe, Belsund & Horsund. $5.00 nrmma
"NORGE / N1" with many people nearby watching it being moved; uncaptioned (so we use the Italian semi-rigid airship's markings) from H H T Co, light speckles of toning on back, heavily toned front. This semi-rigid airship was took the first verified trip of any kind to the North Pole in May 1926, and the first to overfly the polar ice cap between Europe & America. "Spidsbergen" showing a masted ship approaching a rocky, snow-covered shore, color post card with undivided back & yellowish paper, mailed circa 1906 in North Dakota but stamp removed. one corner heavily creased (affects message area on front), corner wear & rounding, edge wear, as is. $2.25 a
TRANSGLOBE EXPEDITION (United Kingdom). Continental-size black & white photo showing its DeHavilland Canada DHC-6 with Chubb & Mobil logos on it, exemplary focus & contrast. This airplane was the first Twin Otter on the British Aircraft Register, and saw duty in the Arctic & Antarctic. Rare. $7.50 a(p)uaa
"UA0KCL" Pevek / Певек (Magadanskaya Oblast) QSL card used 1988 by operator A. Yuri Lobatschev. The port of Pevek is above the Arctic Circle & is the northernmost town in Asia. $2.00 ra
"UA1OT" Franz Josef Land (Arctic Ocean) QSL card used 1989 by operator Roman Bratchik, excellent condition. Bratchik is also a noted explorer of the Antarctic. $3.00 ar
"UZ0BWC" Arctica Cape Chelyuskin QSL card used 1988 by operator Oleg D. Fertov, artwork on front depicts the Arctic explorer Ernst Teodorovich Krenkel who was awarded 2 Orders of Lenin & many other honors. Good edges, very light back-to-front ink transfer from stacking does not detract. $5.00 rfa
"VK9NL / JW" Svalbard Archipelago Norway (world's northernmost community) QSL viewcard used 1989 by operator Kirsti Jenkins-Smith. Both the operator & the settlement are pictured on front in black & white. Excellent condition. $5.00 ann
